Veteran film producer and former TVB artist department high ranking manager Chan Pui Wa passed away from lymphoma on April 28th at age 68. Yesterday the Kowloon City Baptish Church held a funeral service for Sister Pui Wa. The hearse arrived at 6:05PM and the remain was transported this morningat 10AM to the Diamond Hill Crematorium. Sister Pui Wa was a partner of Andy Lau Tak Wa professionally. The still recovering Wa Jai also made a surprise appearance, as he arrived with a medical mask to send his late friend on her final journey.

Did Sammo Hung Kam Bo see Wa Jai? He said, "Yes, he wore a mask and passed by me. (Was he with his wife?) There was a woman, but I don't know if she was his wife or girlfriend!" He also said that Wa Jai was probably in decent health, but joked that his was probably better than Wa Jai's.

The hall was mainly decorated wth white lilies. Sister Pui Wa was rather well liked in the industry. Yesterday many attended the memorial. They included Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Nick Cheung Ka Fa, Wong Cho Lam and his wife Leanne Li Yanan, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and her husband, TVB executive Elaine Lok Yi Ling, Sharon Chan Man Chi, Norman Leung Nai Pang, Connie Chan Bo Chu, Richard Ng Yiu Han and his wife, Michael Miu Kiu Wai, Deanie Ip Tak Han, Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui, Sammo Hung Kam Bo, Ng See Yuen, Benny Chan Muk Sing, Nancy Wu Ting Yan, Patrick Tang Kin Won and others. Many artists sent flowers, Wa Jai and his wife's was the most eye catching as it was the only industry floral arrangement in the hall.

The memorial program had many photos of Sister Pui Wa with artists and many eulogies, including Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung Kam Bo, Ann Hui On Wa, Raymond Lam Fung, Roger Kwok Chun On, Linda Chung Ka Yun, Wu Ting Yan, Max Zhang Jin and Ada Choi Siu Fun. Wa Jai wrote, "Your smile melts away all the sorrow; your foresight and wisdom melt away all the pain; your faith gives us wisdom to continue your work. We would love you to the end, always and forever......"

The funeral committee representative Lok Yi Ling and Wong Cho Lam yesterday spoke to the media. Cho Lam said, "Thank you to the media for your concern, everyone knows Sister Pui Wa is a very faithful Christian. Her will is to conduct a ceremony at the church. Tonight at 7PM the ceremony will begin. Sister Pui Wa's coffin will enter the Church. I hope everyone would make a little room for Sister Pui Wa's coffin to slowly enter."

Anthony Chan Yau, Jonathan Wong Chee Hynn, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Ng Hok Him yesterday promoted their film THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SONS (HING DAI BAN). The story was based on the Wynners' experience in their youth. Playing the young Chan Yau, Ah Him had the least acting experience. Wong Chee Hynn said that Ah Him's nickname was "Off" because he often ran off. Chan Yau said, "Ah Him was very precise with his drum beats, but his life beat was completely wrong. He would disappear at meals and on the set." Ah Him explained, "Because I just left the Sil Hung Mo band, I had some negative emotions. I didn't want to affect the team." Chan Yau said that he did not yell at Ah Him for his behavior, instead he comforted him that life had ups and downs.

Chee Hynn said that as the director Chan Yau really took care of Ah Him, Ka Lok immediately got jealous. "The director was very accepting or loving toward other new actors, he would hug them. Yet I had a crying scene he didn't hug me, he didn't comfort me either." Chan Yau said, "You expected that, because Ka Lok was rich with acting experience he knew how to take care of himself. At first when I asked Ka Lok to play the young Pang Kin Sun, everyone thought when was Kin Jai was handsome? Actually when he was young he was very handsome. Later his look changed with age."

Chan Yau said that he treated all the actors the same, he would take care of everyone. Ah Him was a new actor. Some said that he looked like he was acting the least. This was the power of a new actor. Chee Hynn played the very important big brother in the young Wynners. He sang well and performed decently.

The film 77 HEARTBREAKS (YUEN LEUNG TA 77 CHI) lead actress Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin and C Kwan worked together for the first time in a film. With his always mischievous image, C Kwan made Ah Sa say that the hardest part about working with him was trying not to laugh. C Kwan's appearance already was full of comedic feel, with his film costume he cracked up Ah Sa and the crew on the set. C Kwan could not help but say about his costume that it was unforgivable.

Ah Sa remembered in one of the scenes, the rich C Kwan felt in love at first sight with Ah Sa then started pursuing her. He even proposed to her at her friend J.Arie's wedding ceremony. Ah Sa stated that it was truly too painful because she had to try not to laugh. Each time she looked at C Kwan's serious expression but naturally funny face, Ah Sa did not know what to do. C Kwan the comedy expert during the shoot often "caused trouble" with his improvisation and created a lot of laughs. On one hand C Kwan proposed to Ah Sa, on the other hand Pakho Chau appeared and knelt to Ah Sa in hope of her forgiving him. Ah Sa cried for help because Ah Sa was full of conflict with Pakho, she did not know whether she would continue to forgive Pakho. Yet with C Kwan, she would crack up due to him and ruin the scene. However Ah Sa said that actually C Kwan contributed a lot. During the shoot he brought the cast and the crew endless joy.

Famous action actress Yu So Chau's funeral took place on the 23rd. The farewell ceremony was Buddhist, the decoration was simple. Yu So Chau's coffin was placed in the center of the hall. Her daughter Mak Kam Ling chose the photo, when Mama returned to Hong Kong to attend the Seven Little Fortunes 50th Anniversary with sunglasses and in a Chinese dress. Next to the photo was fresh white flowers; on the other side of the hall was a big screen television, showing Yu So Chau and husband Mak Bing Wing's two classic films, THE LEGEND OF MADAME WHITE SNAKE and LODGING OF A COMPLAINTS BEFORE THE IMPERIAL COURT BY THE YOUNG AMAZONS, for attending family and friends to relive their past film glory.

Son Mak Yiu Man has lived with his mother for almost 50 years. He was not used to the passing of his mother, as he especially missed Mother would make coffee and fix breakfast for him every morning. Now the home just felt empty. He said, "With Mother's passing, the family has been very heartbroken. However seeing Mother's smile when she passed she was still very beautiful. Her peaceful appearance comforted the family very much." As the funeral wear was shipped from Hong Kong, as he wanted to make the funeral its best.

"Seven Little Fortunes" disciples Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung Kam Bo, Yuen Biao, Yuen Qiu, Yuen Wah, Yuen Bun and others were unable to attend the farewell ceremony in person but still sent flowers from across the seas as their final salute to their big sister. Disciples of Yu So Chau's father Yu Jim Yuen like Yuen Nin, Yuen Mui, Yuen Yuen, Yuen Jing all went from Los Angeles, San Ramon and other places to San Francisco to attend their elder's funeral.

The family would arrange for Yu So Chau to be buried next to her husband Mak Bing Wing. The family will donate all the gift to the Fo Guang Shan San Bao Temple in San Francisco. They were considering another ceremony in Hong Kong for friends who were unable to attend the ceremony in the U.S. and bid farewell to Yu So Chau.
