Louisa So Yuk Wa, Alice Lau Nga Lai, Law Koon Lan, Tse Kwan Ho and director Clifton Ko Chi Sum yesterday attended I HAVE A DATE WITH SPRING (NGOR WOR CHUN TIN YAU GOR YEUK WUI) high definition restored version screening in Kowloon Bay. Only Fung Wai Hung did not attend out of the four lead actresses.

Ah So said that she very much looked forward to watching the restored version because she would be able to see many former co-stars and bring back a lot of memories for her. At the time she was in her 20s and just graduated, Ko Chi Sum took the risky and used a group of newcomers on the production. The simple and innocent feelings could not be done today. She also said that after the restoration the film picture quality was elevated. She hoped that later it would be able to continue its run at the movies.

Tse Kwan Ho said that occasionally he would watch this film again. When he made this film he just started, his acting was immature and he did not know anything. He said, "It's like all the feeling of first love coming back." Would he like to work with the original team again? Kwan Ho said that he definitely would if such an opportunity arose. Ah So said that it would definitely be an event and salary would be an after thought.

Ko Chi Sum said that this film meant a lot to him. He felt deeply for this film because at the time he mortgaged his home to the bank and spent HK$ 2.5 million on the production. Luckily it was released in Hong Kong for 4 months and made HK$ 23 million in the end. He did not have to sleep under an overpass. This time he spent over six figures on the restoration. Would the restored version be released at the cinema? He said that he would decide depending on the audience reaction. He said, "This time the most meaningful is everyone getting back together after 23 years. Everyone is in a great state of mind." Would he work with the original team again? Ko Chi Sum revealed that over half a year ago he already wrote the sequel script, which would be a prequel and a sequal. He is looking for investors.

Famous Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai receved the 9th Lyon "Lumiere Award", the first Hong Kong filmmaker to receive the honor. He attended with his wife Esther to accept the award and invited her to the stage to share the honor. He even lovingly said that the award was dedicated to "my muse".

After opening for almost a week, Lyon Lumiere Film Festival on the 20th held an award ceremony. Many excellent filmmakers attended, including Wong Kar Wai's long time collaboration, famous cinematographer Christopher Doyle (To Ho Fung); Zhang Ziyi was unable to attend but send a video to congratulate him. Famous French actress Isabelle Adjani presented the award to Wong Kar Wai.

Wong Kar Wai said, "Thank you to the Lumirere Brothers, they gave us he chance to achieve the light and shadow dreams of our hearts." Looking back at his over 30 year long film journey, Wong Kar Wai gratefully said, "Thank you film fans for your support, thank you to all my collaborators. They made every one of my films possibly."

Wong Kar Wai even gave special thanks to his wife and son for their support. He invited his wife to the stage to share the honor. Speaking of his wife, Wong Kar Wai said, "To keep from disturbing me, she very rarely goes to the set. She gives me room so I can focus on my work even more, but her support has always been there. In movies, each of those extreme charming female character I created had shades of her. This is also he reason that her name is always the first to appear on the screen in my own films. Tonight, I want to dedicate this award to my muse and invite her to the stage to celebrate with me." Finally he even thanked the Lumiere Film Festival for presenting this award to him in French.

Wong Kar Wai not only met with filmmakers and viewers at the master class but also had a special screening of FALLEN ANGEL after the award ceremony. On the 22nd at the film festival closing ceremony, the all new 4K restored IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE will make its global premiere as the closing film.

After GOLDEN CHICKENSSS and 12 GOLDEN DUCKS, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu will have yet another Christmas release! In her new film YIU YIU LING she not only starred but directed. She appeared in curly short hair and thick eyebrows to catch ghost. For her directing debut, Kwan Yu asked friends Alex Fong Chung Shun and Francis Ng Chun Yu to join in. In the film Chun Yu wore a fringed leather jacket to play an over the hill Wise Guy, white Fong Chung Shun played a "balding uncle"!

Because Kwan Yu kept the entire production under wrap, when the trailer was released it spread like mad online. She of course was happy about how popular the trailer has been. As for her friends sacrificing their looks, she said, "You can't say that, it was a lot of fun! They rarely look like that, which is very convincing and suitable for their actual age. The two of them are well maintained and their appearance doesn't match their age!"

Peter Chan Ho Sun produced the film. Earlier when they promoted in the Mainland, Kwan Yu said that they constantly "passionately" communicated. Chan Ho Sun said that Ng Kwan Yu as the director this time was like a child playing with fire. "You have to stop her, but every time you do she yells at you!"

Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Stephy Tang Lai Yan and director Fire Lee (For For) yesterday went to Taiwan to promote their film HUSBAND KILLERS (NUI JI FOOK SAU) at the Kuohsiung Film Festival. Sister Na revealed that she has already prepared to coordinate with her cold and violent image in the film on the red carpet, but she would only be full of dark elements and would not be too sexy.

Speaking of her earlier swimsuit photo, she looked much thinner. Sister Na explained that she had to coordinate with her character and was working for several films at once, she was much thinner. Now her appetite has returned to normal.

Some online were concerned with her chest, has she recovered as well? Sister Na said, "Disappeared? Jinx! They have always been here. Actually my bust has always been around the same, it was an issue with the cut of the swimsuit and the camera angle. In addition gravity exists in this way and it is hard for me to defy. They are still here, thank you everyone for your concern!"

Sister Na revealed that when she worked with Stephy they got through hard times together. On the set they had a lot to talk about, especially when it came to food. Instead they did not talk about guys because they probably did not have guys to talk about. Sister Na said, "It was a competition to see who was drier. Our characters were rivals, fought over a man. If we talked abou this topic we might break into a big argument!"

Stephy said that she was both excited and confused because lately she had to promote three films at once. Each character was very different. Thus during promotion her mind would be a little mixed up. However this was her first film event in Taiwan and she looked forward to the audience's response to her film there. Stephy said that she just promoted SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE MIST at the Busan Film Festival in Korea. The Korean response was very enthusiastic. She rarely promoted overseas sos this feeling was very special. This time in Taiwan would probably be very familiar, she would be able to communicate with the audience in Putonghua. A translator sometimes might not be able to very accurately express what she meant.

Stephy said that the next four days in Kuohsiung would be very tightly scheduled and she definitely would not have to see the sights. She only hoped to have a chance to get a massage. While working on HUSBAND they became good friends and talked about everything. They only did not talk in depth about guys, hopefully on this trip they would be able to share.

Louis Koo Tin Lok, Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Emily Kwan Bo Wai, Ava Liu (Yu Kiu) and Law Lan two nights ago promoted their film ALWAYS BE WITH YOU (SEUNG JOI NEI JOR YAU) in Causeway Bay. Goo Jai praised Chilam and Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin's outstanding acting in the film. Playing a deranged character, Chilam said that the hardest part was gaining weight. Handling the corpse and suicide were also hard because he never imagined those issues in real life.

The new film would commemorate the classic film TROUBLESOME NIGHT (YUM YEUNG LO)'s 20th anniversary. Goo Jai said that the new film was the wish of the earlier ailing producer Nam Yin. When his health permitted the film was made. Koo even joked that Nam was as he always was, treating everyone to milk tea. Goo Jai said that the box office would determine whether the film series would resume. "Because this subject is very difficult to make well, you have to scare everyone but cheer them up as well. Thus the new film would be the most suitable for couples, as it would advance their relationship further." Did Goo Jai ask rumored girlfriend Amber Kuo to see the movie? He as usual declined to respond to anything untrue.

Playing a female ghost in the film, Yu Kiu lay in a coffin and jumped off a building for the first time. She said, "Lying in the coffin was very scary, my heart was pounding so hard that my eyelids were twitching. During the shoot I was very afraid that when the coffin lid opened my eyes would still be blinking." Promoting later with a live broadcast in the Sai Kung country side later, Yu Kiu admitted that she would pray for her safety. She even said that her boyfriend (Adason Lo) wanted to go too, but she turned him down because it was work.

Kwai Bo Wai was happy to see the return of TROUBLESOME NIGHT. "I asked the director to put me in the movie even without any line. This time I guest starred as a plastic surgeon. TROUBLESOME NIGHT was a very important segment of my show business career, when younger people see me they would talk about this film series."

All new action comedy KEEP CALM AND BE A SUPERSTAR (NGOR DAI GUI SING) two nights ago held a Beijing press conference. With meteor hammers the stars Eason Chan Yik Shun and Li Ronghao lamented about not meeting earlier. Eason said, "We used to be just online friends. After meeting Li Ronghao for the first time, I gave him my room number for the first day to invite him to chat."

Who was "undercover" and who was the "superstar" in the film? Director Vincent Kok Tak Siu explained, the "superstar" was the kung fu superstar Yuen Piao (Chan Yik Shun). Director Kok revealed when he first asked Eason, he baited him with a comedy. Then when the production officially began, he told him that he had a series of action scenes. His co-star was the buff kung fu master Chris Collins. Afer the wrap, Eason admitted that he was a size smaller and his face was pointier. He even described it as "almost dead". "I absolutely had zero experience, no foundation. Chris excels in Wing Chun, his hands were hard as rocks. While fighting with him, every punch landed was suffering. However in the process of pain, I learned a lot. Thank you Chris."

Since the "superstar" was Chan Yik Shun, "undercover" naturally was Li Ronghao. He too had to fight in the film. Kok Tak Siu pointed out that he was very hard working. Often during breaks he would practice his stuns in a corner. One day Li Ronghao discovered that his rib was injured but he did not tell the team. He toughed out the pain from the morning for the fight scene until after work at night. Then he finally told the truth. The team immediately rushed him to the hospital for further examination.

Making his big screen debut, Li Yitong had some stunts. She remembered in one scene she had to wear a pair of very tall heels. To maintain balance for an action scene was already hard enough. In one scene she had to lift her leg and kick down, but she kicked Li Ronghao in the head. It felt like cracking open a coconut, luckily she did not kick too hard. Li Ronghao was not hurt.

Playing the action director, Wilfred Lau Ho Lung pointed out that in the film he "talked more than fought". In his only fight scene he had to fight Chan Yik Shun, but because of this scene he was very nervous. Usually the one hitting people was more nervous than the one getting hit. To maintain the authentic Hong Kong style comedy, Kok Tak Siu revealed that the film used Stephen Chow Sing Chi's official support players.

Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Korean star Krysal Jung, Charmaine Fong Ho Man, Tracy Chu Tsin Suet and Yvete Kong Man Yi last night attended a watch event. Sammi revealed that earlier when she went to make a movie in Sichuan she got a six pack of abdominal muscles!

Sammi revealed that she just returned from Sichuan and worked with a Chinese French director for the first time. She also worked with To Ho Fung (Christopher Doyle) for the first time as well. She also revealed that while working there, everyday afer work she would work out at the hotel due to a lack of entertainment and accidentally achieved a six pack of abdominal muscles.

Sammi said, "Because I had several scenes that I had to show my waist, I had to stay in grea shape. Originally the abdominal muscles were no so obvious. They were all coincidental. However I won't keep them because I don't always wear midriff showing clothing. In addition after two meals they were gone." She revealed that next monh she will perform in Macau. The show would only be a little over a hour, the run down would be different from Hong Kong's.

In addition, she would be a special guest at the Society for the Blind fund raiser. She will perform two songs. Other artists and the Orchestra will perform as well. As for her next Hong Kong concert, Sammi said that she would be very tired after her concert but she really wanted to perform. However in December she would have to work on another film. Then she would have two more films to make and three scripts in negotiation. She felt that she would not make all of them because it would be too hard, but she would definitely make four film. Two would be Hong Kong films. Sammi wanted to make more Hong Kong films to show her support.

Did her husband Andy Hui Chi On complain about how busy she was? Sammi revealed that On Jai originally wanted to visit her set in Sichuan, but for her abdominal muscles she turned him down! "I didn't have time to entertain him. I wanted to focus on work. Unless I would work for three months to half a year, I wouldn't need one for just a month. (On Jai misses you.) That's what you say. (Is he very possessive?) Average, in the end I banned him from visiting the set. If he did we would eat together. Then I couldn't achieve my abdominal muscles."

The Louis Koo Tin Lok, Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Charmaine Sheh Sze Man, Law Lan, Ava Liu (Yu Kiu), Lam Suet and Yuen King Tan starred TROUBLESOME NIGHT (YUM YEUNG LO) 20th anniversary film ALWAYS BE WITH YOU (SEUNG JOI NEI JOR YAU) will open on the 26th. With attention on this long running Hong Kong horror film series, this classic team of "producer Nam Yin, director Herman Yau Lai To and star Louis Koo Tin Lok" had to be mentioned. They worked together endless times in the first seven films and cooked up scene after horrifying scenes!

The most memorable had to be Goo Jai's trademark farewell wave! He personally explained how it came about. "I too feel the most classic scene was in the first film when I waved to everyone goodbye at the pier; I actually created this wave myself, haha!" Speaking of the reason behind it, Goo Jai said, "Actually I didn't have any special reason, but I don't know why, after the first film was released everyone had such a deep impression of this scene. So later this idea appeared more and more."

Another collective memory of TROUBLESOME NIGHT was Sister Law Lan's character "Lung Por". Goo Jai also said, "Sister Law Lan definitely is the most memorable. Her character became famous because of TROUBLESOME NIGHT."

Aside from Simon Lui Yu Yeung also was well known. Goo Jai said, "He is even more amazing, after TROUBLESOME NIGHT he went to host a radio program and became the 'ghost king'."

Movies about the supernatural of course had many taboos. Goo Jai revealed, "For example when shooting in a cemetery, try not to disturb the ancestors, not to touch the ancestors' tomb, not to sit on the ancestor's tombstone; if a character passed away in the film because the story required it, he or she would receive lai see first." Actually Goo Jai in the first seven TROUBLESOME NIGHT alreayd had six "death experience".

Stephy Tang Lai Yan for her film THE EMPTY HAND (HUNG SAU DOH) spent half a year to study karate, but before her performance she still thought it was not enough. During the shoot she had to demonstrate the basic styles, combinations and even get in the ring. The Japanese coach was very demanding and would not pass the slightest mishap.

In the film Japanese actor Yasuaki Kurata played her father. The dojo that he left her fell into the hands of another, driving Stephy to get into the ring. In it she had to wield her sure kill skill. Stephy pointed out that she watched videos to learn. Because it was her own sure kill technique, the action had to be very pretty and thus she stressed about it. On the day of the shoot, originally a few shots were fnished but the director still did not accept them. When they shot another scene an accident took place. Originally a professional karate third degree black belt female co-star would kick first before she did, but when they kicked their legs crossed. Stephy said, "Because our shins crashed, I fell to the ground from he pain. At the time I thought my leg would be broken and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish the scene. After resting for awhile I tried again, luckily I was able to finish the perfect move. Determination is very important." However Stephy said that later her leg was swollen for a long time before healing. Stephy did not have time to be officially certified, but she asked the Japanese instructor for some self defense technique. If a man grabbed her she could struggle free. She said, "If now a guy gets close, I believe he would be in danger!"

Stephy recently made several movies that were very different from her past romantic films. SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE MIST (LAN TIN BAK WON) was a film festival film, HUSBAND KILLERS (NUI JI FOOK SAU) was a gun action performance. She said that actually this time THE EMPTY HAND was half action and half dramatic depiction of characters. It was a challenge to her acting abilities, showing a different her and changes in her. In the past many actresses after a break up would let go, as they dared to make some sexier or artistic films. Stephy did not deny that. "Actually these several films more or less approached me after my personal life changed a little. The directors also needed inspiration and stimulation. Maybe they would feel my state of mind was somewhat different and would be interested in the film. Do I have more art film offers? Not yet, actually aside from the changes of the past year or two my state of mind let go a lot. As a professional actor, I would try my best to play any character well." Would she continue to make romantic films and work with director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) and former boyfriend Alex Fong Lik Sun? She said, "I won't resist making romantic films, I would have to think abou the team up though." Speaking of Siu Fong's co-star changed to Cecilia So Lai Shan, Stephy said, "With too many repeated everyone would get bored!"

Kara Wai Ying Hung and Stephy Tang Lai Yan two days ago promoted their new film at the Busan Film Festival. Sister Siu Hung thought that the jewelry she brought from Hong Kong vanished. As she was about to "report" it to the sponsors and discuss compensation, she discovered tha she threw it into the hotel trash can.

Best Actress Wai Ying Hung two nights ago attended the new film THE BOLD, THE CORRUPT AND THE BEAUTIFUL's Busan Film Festival world premiere. Although she has won countless awards, Sister Siu Hung was absent minded. She looked all over for the jewelry that she brought from Hong Kong. She not only turned her luggage over but also called the airline to ask if she left it on the plane. As she was planning to discuss compensation with the sponsor, her door bell rang. A hotel service clerk said, "There was a bag of jewelry in the trash can, we are confirming if the client discarded it?"

She said, "This trip has been tightly scheduled, in two short days I had to be interviewed nonstop all over. In my mind was only fast, fast, fast......I would only mess up like this in a moment of chaos! Haha!" In the past film festival guests have stayed at this hotel. The clerk might have often run into such incidents and thus confirmed this bag of "trash". Sister Siu Hung thanked this dutiful clerk with a pair of hand crafted earrings that she bought in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Film Award winning new director Cheung King Wai's first feature film SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE MIST (LAN TIN BAK WON) also held a premiere there on the same day. Two days ago was lead actress Stephy Tang Lai Yan's birthday. Director Cheung prepared a Korean seafood feast and a birthday cake to celebrate. Stephy revealed that it was her first birthday at Busan and she was both excited and fulfilled. "To be able to watch a movie that I have looked forward to for a long time on my birthday, my feelings are very complicated -- like blue sky doesn't necessarily have white clouds, but after white clouds is definitely a blue sky. This is the best birthday present this year!"

Martial art actor Conan Lee Yuen Ba retired from film and returned to the U.S. after his mother was diagnosed with scleroderma with only a few months to live. He took care of her and even studied medical nutrition therapy, but his mother in the end passed away in an accident.

Lee Yuen Ba had no regret. Because he was close to his mother, he would even give all the money he made from his movies to her. Although he took care of his mother for 17 years, he stated that he cherished this very valuable period of time together. He also said that he never thought about returning to film because he would be even happier if he had 10 more years to be with his mother. Yet he believed that Heaven brought her in so she did not need to suffer anymore. Thus he was determined to return to China and Hong Kong to make movies. He also wrote a script about his mother. After Feng Xiaogang's wife Xu Fan read it she asked to play his mother. He said, "I feel she is suitable for the Mama role. She also helped me a lot. I am very grateful. This time this film will be shot in Hollywood, it will be the first film of my comeback. I will produce, write, star and direct. It will be about the process of Mama's treatment and my study of medicine. However the resulting positive energy has to let the entire world know that Mama is the most important. I also wrote a lot of scripts. Because I want to be fully prepared for my return, if anyone want to work together I can."

Speaking of many film industry action actors like Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Max Zhang Jin, Lee Yuen Ba admitted that now few actors could fight. Thus he was very happy to still have this group of outstanding action actors. He hoped to have a chance to work with everyone.

He recently participated in the Juno Mak Chun Lung new film SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT (FUNG FOR SAN LAM), he praised him for how serious and attentive he was at work. Despite his young age he was very talented, humble and friendly. Thus the collaboration has been very pleasant.

The Janice Man Wing Shan, Shawn Yue Man Lok and Max Zhang Jin starred new film earlier represented Hong Kong at the Busan Film Festival. The film had many underwater fight scenes, which unexpectedly stumped martial art expert Zhang Jin. He said, "Fighting under water and on land are completely different. I never thought about how tough shooting underwater would be. Fighting without oxygen tank was very hard." Yue Man Lok also felt that making a fight scene underwater was tough. "The director told me that day, he wanted to shoot the underwater fight scene under a Number 10 Storm Signal. I told him that absolutely would not be easy. When I watched the film I was very surprised how successful the director's shoot was."

MANHUNT two nights ago held its Busan Film Festival premiere. Director John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) and his wife, daughter and actress Angeles Woo Fei Ha and lead actress Ha Ji-Won attended and enjoyed the new film with the audience. Their appearance caused a stir. After the screening the audience applauded passionated. Director Woo stood up and waved to the viewers in a show of appreciation. Later at the forum, a viewer was very happy to see a lot of the director's unique style in the new film. Director Woo revealed that aside from the white doves and the twin guns he also had dance elements. He said, "I really like to dance, my wife and I met due to dancing. Actually gun fights and fight scenes are like dancing, they have to have beauty and rhythm." He also said that he thanked China's Zhang Hanyu, Japan's Masaharu Fukuyama, Korea's Ha Ji-Won and actors and crew members from all over for their professional quality contribution. On and off camera they were able to display the spirit of friendship that went beyond borders.

Although the film was filled with Director Woo's classic style, he did not forget to innovate and add in new elements. He added a female killer and actress shooting a gun for the first time. Ha Ji-Won said that she felt honored to be the first. Director Woo also said that with Ha Ji-Won's good acting and agility, during the shoot he treated her like Chow Yun Fat! Ha Ji-Won was pleasantly surprised, bowed to the director and shook his hand in appreciation. She said, "I didn't expect Director Woo would say that, this time I probably wouldn't be able to sleep from being so happy!" She also revealed that Director Woo taught her when shooting and fighting in the film to focus on emotional expression. As the event ended, the audience rushed up with gifts for them and asked for photos and autographs passionately.

In addition, Stephy Tang Lai Yun has been busy at the Busan Film Festival. Yesterday was her birthday. Although she did not have to celebrate but the team thoughtful prepared a cake for her. Stephy thanked everyone online. "I watched a movie that I have looked forward to for a long time on my birthday today. My feelings are very complicated, happy, nervous, moved! I believe this is probably the best birthday present this year. Thank you Director, thank you to each actor. You are the greatest. Thank you for the surprise as well."

Checkley Sin Kwok Lam, Shek Sau, Leung Siu Lung and others yesterday attended an opening. Speaking of artists leaving Wong Cho Lam's entertainmen company, Master Sin said that he has been taking note of his nephew's news. "Actually Cho Lam really puts an effort into the company, but maybe he didn't expect that he would be too busy himself. I have been a manager, sometimes when you are busy you may not be able to take care of the artists." Master Sin said that although artists left, he believed that their relationships with Cho Lam did no change. Vivian Lai Shui Yan was still friends with him for example. As for manager advice for Cho Lam, Master Sin said, "I am not great at it, but when I sign artists I definitely would give them the chance to perform. For example my new film earlier might no have ideal box office performance but had great word of mouth, now it has over 100 booked shows."

Leung Siu Lung just returned from Shenyang. He said that he, Ti Lung and Sammo Hung Kam Bo were working on a Zhao Benshan produced new web series. When as if it had action scenes galore, he said, "What do you think? I just finished another fight film, Zhao Wenzhou, Chan Kwok Kwan and On Chi Kit took turns to fight me, the three of them against me." Leung Siu Lung said that he would not return to Hong Kong film until January next year. He admitted that his age was very advantageous in the Mainland market, but only he, Hung Kam Bo, Yuen Wah, Tsui Siu Keung, Louis Fan Siu Wong learned how to fight in the film industry.
