Director Wong Jing recently began production on FROM VEGAS TO MACAU 3 (DOH SING FUNG WON 3) in secret. With the success of the first two films the investment on the third film grew up to 250 million RMB. Wong Jing called in favor for guest stars like Wu Chun, Janice Man Wing Shan, Yuen Qiu and others. The film will fly to Thailand, Singapore, Macau and other locations for production. In August a giant press conference will take place at its "lucky place" TVB Tseung Kwan O Television City.

Wong Jing also invited Jacky Cheung Hok Yau and Chris Lee Yuchun to join the fray. He said, "Hok Yau will play an arms dealer who has a memorable romance with (Carina) Lau Ka Ling. Lee Yuchun's tough girl image left me with a deep impression. This time she will have a lot of screen time as the God of Gamblers' junior colleague. She will have to imitate the God of Gamblers' every move."

Shiga Lin Si Nga yesterday with director Cheng Kin Wo appeared on a radio interview. Speaking of her revealing performance in the film, was she worried that fans would go overboard with their imagination? She said, "If they go overboard with their imagination I can't control that. Luckily I still haven't run into anything excessively crazy, the fans are milder and nicer." Playing an otaku goddess in the film, she saw Angelina Jolie as a goddess. "Nowadays a goddess can't just have looks, their every word and move have to radiate goddess charm."

Alex Fong Lik Sun yesterday attended a handicapped employment promotion plan event. He said that he just finished a suspense film in Chengdu and played a father for the first time. Then he will work on director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum)'s new film with girlfriend Stephy Tang Lai Yan. Will they date at work? He said, "This time won't be sweet from the beginning to the end, so we might not be so happy. During the shoot it will be better if we see each other less. Because in real life we are very happy, but on the set we will argue. I am afraid that the acting would harm our real relationship." He joked that it would be best to they have separate trailer and reduce running into each other.

Gregory Wong Chung Hiu two nights ago attended an event and said that he wanted to be Sean Lau Ching Wan's successor. He said, "Now Hong Kong films and new comers both have generation gaps. I hope that my production company will make more projects that are rare in Hong Kong! (Do you want to sign any new comer?) It's very hard to be a manager, when you sign them you are responsible. (Whose successor do you feel you are?) I don't know, I hope to succeed Lau Ching Wan. This year I have more income, but I invested it back into the production company. Every month I would pay myself several tens of thousands. I have to watch my expenses! I will help a band with a music video production, the budget will be between HK$ 80,000 to 100,000. (Did you buy a new car?) It's the company's. At night I am also a driver, giving co-workers rides home. (Do you want to work with the newly merged management company's colleague Chrissie Chau Sau Na?) She will work on my films, I don't know if I will perform in it."

The 2015 New York Asian Film Festival opened in Lincoln Center yesterday. Hong Kong director Ringo Lam Lan Tung and actor Aaron Kwok Fu Sing respectively received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" and the "Star Asia Award".

The "Hong Kong Panorama" segment of this year's Asian Film Festival will screen 11 latest and classic Hong Kong films of varying styles. Many of them will be U.S. premieres and screened in Lincoln Center and the New York School of Visual Arts Theater for half a month. The "Hong Kong Panorama" segment will include the international premiere of ROBBERY (LO LUP, 2015), three North American premieres of INSANITY (BO FUNG YU, 2014), PORT OF CALL (DAP HUET CHUM MUI, 2015) and TWO THUMBS UP (CHUNG FUNG CHEH, 2015), an American premiere of FULL STRIKE (CHUEN LIK KAU SAT, 2015) and a New York premiere of IT'S ALREADY TOMORROW IN HONG KONG (2015).

After years away director Lam Lan Tung will appear for the first time at the film festival. New York Times' earlier film review called him "Hong Kong Crime Master". At the opening ceremony, the film festival presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Director Lam. After the award ceremony his critical hit CITY ON FIRE (LUNG FU FUNG WON, 1987) was screened.

Also receiving an award was Kwok Fu Sing, who brought his latest film PORT TO CALL to New York as the film festival's opening film. The film festival presented him with the Star Asia Award to honor his persistence for excellent work.

The film festival also screened the "Our Hong Kong" trailer, in which Hong Kong's unique mix of Chinese and Western culture would be seen through the eyes of a Chinese Canadian mixed heritage young woman who grew up in Hong Kong.

As the film festival's sponsoring organization, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York through different art and cultural organization collaborations brings Hong Kong film and personnel to the U.S. This year is also the seventh year in a row that the Office has brought Hong Kong's award winning films, directors, actors and screen writers to the New York Asian Film Festival.

Speaking of how many years has it been since his last lead role, On Jai said, "It's been so long I can't even remember, but I really like acting. I have nothing to lose." On Jai said that after his concerts, his abdominal muscles have already left him behind. Thus he really wanted to get back into shape. He even joked that he had to tempt the director, "He didn't ask me to strip, but I have no reason to ask for it myself. Maybe I can take a risk and take off my clothes. I can only get into shape first." Will he have any bed scene with JM? On Jai said that if the story required it he could accept it. Will On Jai take the chance to get a tan and show off his muscles in the summer? He said that he rarely went to the beach. Film stars Louis Koo Tin Lok and Amber Kuo in the romantic comedy PARIS HOLIDAY (BA LAI GA KEI) had a lot of intimate scenes, including dancing the Waltz and a drunk kiss scene. In one scene Amber Kuo suddenly had a leg cramp and could not move. Goo Jai immediately became a "French style foot massage therapist" as he gave her a foot massage and help her stretch. Amber Kuo's leg was pulled straight up at 90 degrees, which made her scream in pain. Goo Jai gave her a massage while comforting her.

Goo Jai in the film was a jack of all trades, he fixed lights, door bells, and made breakfast as nothing seemed to be able to stump him. Amber Kuo said, "During the leg cramp scene, Goo Jai was especially calm. He gave massages, stretched and applied pressure points! He absolutely was a super nice guy. Whoever his girlfriend will be will be too happy!"

Singer Shiga Lin Si Nga and Malaysian actor JC Chee two nights ago attended the category III film WHEN GEEK MEETS SERIAL KILLER premiere. After watching the Malaysian version Shiga learned that a "sausage eating" scene was cut. She looked forward to the domestic full version.

Shiga yelled at people, hit people and even killed people on the big screen for the first time. She never thought whether her image would be affected. "Does playing a bad guy make me a bad guy in real life? I am not worried that after my boyfriend watches the film it would be awkward. If this affects his feelings for me, then he really doesn't really like me!" Speaking of Janice and Jill Vidal joining her record company, she really would like to work with the sisters.

JC Chee watched the American series BREAKING BAD to study the lead's deranged expressions for the killing scene. He also got into shape for the nude scene. He even praised Lin Si Nga for her beauty and talent.

[2015.06.26] WAI YING HUNG PLANS TO RETIRE IN 2017

courtesy of mingpao.com

Hong Kong Film Award winning Best Actress Kara Wai Ying Hung earlier appeared on a Phoenix Satellite Television program A DATE WITH LUYU. Before the recording, Sister Hung took the host Lu Yu on a walk down her childhood neighborhood around Lockhart Road in Wan Chai. Through the ancient stores along the streets she recounted her life and started the interview.

Sister Yu in October will work on Giddens Ko's new film, which will be her final action film. Years ago she even planned to retire in 2017. She is learning ink wash painting and hopes to be able to have her own exhibit in the future. Sister Hung said, "I hope to give myself a chance to try other things." Will she guest star? She said that for now she has not decided.

As for love, Sister Hung admitted that she loved talented men. Since youth she has been making movies, so she had no chance to meet guys and date. At Shaw, she once fell for a behind the scene worker. Yet because at the time she worked on more fight scenes, everyone treated her like a guy and nothing came of her crush. Sister Hung was the most heart broken when she insisted on making an all nude pictorial book. Her boyfriend could not accept it and they broke up in the end. Sister Hung revealed that she read in a fortune telling book that she would have "an old companion at age 60", which left her sobbing and heart broken. In the end she let it go and said, "At age 60 my health should be very poor. An old companion then would probably be true love?"

Eddie Peng Yu-Yan and Shawn Dou Xiao in the new Emperor film TO THE FORE (POR FUNG) played close friends. They originally were teammates and rivals. Later Eddie left the team and became a famous sprinter, but when he saw Dou Xiao in the pit of his life Eddie decided to lend a helping hand. He agreed to participate in an illegal underground race as they both headed to Busan, Korea for the Madison race.

Eddie and Dou Xiao's Korean race had underground cycling race rules. Two people form a team and wear the same number. They need to complete the baton pass by either holding hands or contact in the designated blue zone to challenge the 50 kilometer and 200 lap race. Not only abilities but also friendship are tested. Eddie said that being able to express a deep relationship with Dou Xiao was this film's biggest message.

Eddie even said that in this race he did not need to climb hills. It was a more comfortable and relaxing scene. No wonder he and Dou Xiao kept messing around on the set. Yet when director Dante Lam Chiu Yin gave them a serious stare, they would immediately become obedient little rabbits. Lam Chiu Yin said that he hoped to be able to work together on another sport film. He planned to make a diving film and joked that he did not know if Eddie who was all scarred up from the new film would dare to accept another challenge.

In addition, director Lam Chiu Yin earlier with Peng Yu-Yan, Dou Xiao, Choi Si-Won, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Wang Luodan and Ouyang Nana appeared in Beijing to promote the new film. Si-Won who has worked on many Chinese films even demonstrated his fluent Putonghua.

Her appearance also had a big breakthrough, not only did she had to dye her hair but also wear drawn on tattoos.

JM said that every time at work she would spend two to three hours on the tattoos. Once when she went home to shower the tattoo dissolved, which made her wrap up her tattoos like a cast before she bathed.

In the film JM had a motorcycle scene, in which she gave Louis Koo Tin Lok a ride on the streets of Paris. They had romantic scenes in the film. She even had to take the initiative and kiss Goo Jai. JM said that they were very professional so the shoot went very smoothly. JM was rumored to be dating a rich kid and that she even went to his home. JM said that they were only friends and were still getting to know each other, but he was a good guy. She also said that he was not a rich kid. He was very hard working and worth learning from. The ceremony took place around 3PM. After the ceremony Hok Yau was asked if he was nervous about receiving his first honorary fellowship. Hok Yau said that he was the first to appear, so he had to remember the order of wearing the hat and where to go. Speaking of his family not being there, he joked, "They are waiting for when I receive the doctorate!" Hok Yau said that he did not know if he had the chance, this time he did not invite them. He only notified them. His daughter did not understand what happened, his wife congratulated him. Last night his family will celebrate with a dinner.

Will he make more movies in the future? Hok Yau said that he did not know if the honorary fellowship will help. Now he is already in production, later he will make another one. He only sat there, but it was a good experience nonetheless. How did it feel to wear the fellows robe? He joked, "I can say I wore one, I never thought that I would since I was so bad at school." He also said that at his age he should be a doctorate. Would he look forward to seeing his daughter in graduation robe? Hok Yau said of course, he definitely will be there. Would he be moved to tears? He said that being moved would come from within and depend on the situation. He said that it will be soon, as he believed that he would see that in a few years.
