Mary Jean Reimer (Yung Jing Jing) noticed that her late husband Lau Ka Leung's hand prints on the Avenue of Stars are gradually fading. Two days ago she reflected the problem on facebook. "On the Avenue of Stars, Lau Ka Leung's hand prints are vanishing bit by bit. The same goes for the late Mr. Bau Fong's......" She mentioned that tourists pressing their hands down on the celebrity hand prints for photos and thus damaging them, and hoped that the authorities would seal the "late film artists" hand prints in glass to preserver them.

Yung Jing Jing also posted the contact information of the organizations involved. After the media coverage, the Avenue of Stars management company replied through its public relations company that it was concerned about the situation and would discuss ways for improvement.

Yung Jing Jing said, "What the Hong Kong government is the best at preserving is 'teeth marks'." Sh also said that "whatever the government does it all lacks foresight. Hasn't the Heart Sutra master calligraphy that was etched onto the Wisdom Path all vanished......establishing a pile of 'councils" that were in name only, hiring a big group of secretaries, all are just momentary and superficial effort and not lasting strategy."

Yung Jing Jing said that the Yuau Tsim Mong District Council contacted her and said that it would follow up. They would meet Thursday. She said that the authorities have already noticed the problem and promised to seal the related locations for treatment.
