The music industry's second report card, the 2014 Commercial Radio Ultimate Song Chart Awards took place last night at the Wanchai Convention Center. My Favorite Singer awards went to Hins Cheung King Hin and Kay Tse On Kay. When the event announced Kay as the winner, Joey Yung Choi Yi looked a little sour. After Kay got on stage, she asked the crew for a "mic stand" because she felt a little dizzy. She also said that she truly did not prepare at all so she felt very sorry. She mentioned that when she won the My Favorite Female Singer award the first time, it was quite a shock because of her health. Most winners only won one or two awards so there were no runaway winners.

The event presented 43 awards, but the entire evening's program was dull to the point of madness. The final hour only got a little more attractive. When the male singer award was presented, the absent Eason Chan Yik Shun only received a bronze prize. Pakho Chau who "defeated" him and silver prize winner Andy Hui Chi On became to "generate tears" from the audience to finally being able to shed "tears of joy" on the stage. He sentimentally said, "Winning someone who can relate to your music is very encouraging, being here I have incomparable pressure and anxiety. Now I feel a little dizzy, so I really need your applause. With noise I can get settled."

Female singer gold prize went to Miriam Yeung Chi Wa, silver prize went to Yung Cho Yi and the bronze prize to Fiona Sit Hoi Kei. When Sit Hoi Kei learned that she won the bronze prize she was already in tears. When she gave her thank up speech on stage she broke down completely. Joey in her speech mentioned that last year has not been easy. Because her mother was ill she had to choose between work or family and in the end she chose family. Stepping into 2015, she said that good days have arrived. She wished good health for both Mommy and everyone. When Chin Wa found out she won the gold prize, she laughed and cried in the audience. On the stage she repeatedly said, "How did this happen?" She was unusually happy and even wiped away her tears with a tissue. she said that her 20 years in the business have been high hills and low valleys. She went over them several dozen times. She was very happy that she went from a low valley to a high hill. Yet getting to the high hill required a lot of wisdom and strength. She also said that being a Mommy was not easy, so she definitely would serve her filial duties to her parents.

Kay wore a white and red long dress with a frame on her chest. When she appeared she almost fell. Later she won a top ten song award with SINGLE HOME VILLAGE, and she was very cautious. She also said that after ten years in the business she now felt very rich and very grateful.

Cheung King Hin has already hinted that he will appear in special costumes for all four award shows. This time Hin Jai painted the left side of his face face and carried a chandelier. His song FOREVER YOUNG came in second. He even brought Tam Yuk Ying who sat next to him to the stage. Tam Yuk Ying personally presented the award to Hin Jai. Hin Jai pointed out that Tam Yuk Ying was his childhood idol, the singers gave her a standing ovation in support. Hin Jai said, "If Sister Tam Yuk Ying didn't appear at the concert, I believe this song would be just very ordinary. Yet because of her, real emotions played out." Tam Yuk Ying said, "The sketch in the concert made so many people cry, many guys shed tears. Again I want to say I am sorry."

The Ultimate Music Rookie gold prize went to the group SiS Lok's. With a surprise victory over the bronze winner Fred Cheng Chun Won, they were moved to tears. Younger sister Lok Yan Ming even said, "I have walked these six steps for five years! Thank you to all the co-workers, because we aren't famous it's very hard to get clothing sponsorship. We are Sis Lok's everyone please remember to lend clothes to us!"

The all star song OPEN THE UMBRELLA that the Umbrella Movement gave birth to but into the top ten of My Favorite Song. RubberBand member Lai Man wore a yellow ribbon to show his support. Many fans also brought light signs to show theirs. Outside people gave away yellow umbrellas and yellow ribbons. Some "parents under the umbrella" representatives even showed their support with their umbrellas. The venue security stopped them and said that nothing could be distributed at the Convention Center.
