Despite its strong cast, THE CROSSING I only gives an average box office performance

The Hong Kong Box Office Co. Ltd. tabulated the 2014 Christmas slot (December 24 to 26) film box office trends. This year the total box office was HK$ 34,690,895, an increase of 6.59% from HK$ 32,544,887 in the same period last year that is also a sign that Hong Kong film spending has risen from last year.

Among the Christmas film releases, Hollywood films had better box office. On top was NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: SECRET OF THE TOMB, over those three days it made HK$ 12,115,484 as it left second place THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES' HK$ 7,508,959 and third place BIG HERO 6's HK$ 6,663,988 far behind. The only new Hong Kong film release during the period was THE CROSSING I, over the three day Christmas period, THE CROSSING I made HK$ 745,863 (The film was released on December 25th).
