Dennis To Yu Hang reportedly did not want to renew his contract with his master Sin Kwok Lam's management company, but due to a lack of money he in the end signed for another five years. Master Sin Kwok Lam thought that To Yu Hang might have learned his lesson. Yet due to a Taiwan investor's interest in buying out To Yu Hang's contract, the contract storm drastically changed.

Reportedly, a Taiwan investor through Gold Label manager Paco Wong's introduction contacted Sin Kwok Lam for a possibly buy out of To Yu Hang's contract. Sin Kwok Lam who thought that something was up and was extremely disappointed. Supposedly Sin Kwok Lam once said to Paco Wong that as long as someone was willing to buy out the contract he would not keep To Yu Hang. Yet soon after Paco learned more about what happened, the Taiwan investor no longer mentioned signing To Yu Hang again, not to mention paying for his contract termination.

To Yu Hang reportedly proceeded to be acting up again and issued a legal letter to his management company, claiming that Sin Kwok Lam's management company not only owed him money but also that the company did not follow the spirit of the contract, arranged jobs for him to make him a star, caused his income to reduce drastically and he asked for a reply within seven days from Sin Kwok Lam. Sin Kwok Lam was enraged and decided to give up the disciple that he single handedly cultivated, as he planned to expel him from his school! However because they still had a contract, Sin Kwok Lam would definitely pursue the matter to the end. Sin Kwok Lam has put a lot of effort into make To Yu Hang into a star, making THE LEGEND IS BORN: IP MAN and THE WOMAN KNIGHT OF MIRROR LAKE to push To Yu Hang and spent over 100 million to make him the lead actor. Any accusation of Sin Kwok Lam not giving his all to make his disciple into a star was truly unfounded.
