The Easter holiday has just ended. At the film box office of the four day holiday the Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) and Nick Cheung Ka Fai starred THAT DEMON WITHIN (MOR GAING) crushed all films to become the Easter holiday slot box office champion. With last Thursday (April 17th)'s advanced screening and the four day Easter holiday (18th to 20th) the five day total was HK$9,208,999 and 155,526 viewers.

Nine films that opened for Easter included THAT DEMON WITHIN, 3D animation RIO 2, Japanese film KIKI's DELIVERY, small scale releases FRUITVALE STATION, HOT YOUNG BLOOD and others. With the already in current CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, THE MIDNIGHT AFTER (NA YEH LING SUN, NGOR JOR SEUNG LIU WONG GOK HOI WONG DAI PO DIK HUNG VAN), 3D NAKED AMBITION (3D HO CHING) and others the battle had a great mix. In the end THAT DEMON WITHIN crushed all films to become the Easter box office champion. In second place was CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (HK$8,724,894), in third place was RIO 2 (HK$6,906,520). Because both CAPTAIN AMERICA and RIO 2 are 3D films, each ticket cost more than THAT DEMON WITHIN. In terms of admission, THAT DEMON WITHIN left its opponent in the dusts with 50,000 more viewers than both CAPTAIN AMERICA and RIO 2.

As for the Mainland box office, THAT DEMON WITHIN opened in the Mainland last Friday (18th). Its four day accumulation was 56.4 million RMB. Currently at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, director Dante Lam Chiu Yin was very happy about the Hong Kong and Mainland box office, but because neither lead actors Ng Yin Cho and Cheung Ka Fai were in Hong Kong, he had no plan to celebrate just yet. Currently in the U.S., Ng Yin Cho everyday tightly followed the box office numbers and hoped that aside from the box office success viewers would continue to support Hong Kong films. Ka Fai also said that he was very happy, stating that this character was a challenge for him and hoped that everyone would continue their support.
