Babyjohn Choi Hong Yik officially joined China 3D Digital Entertainment and became an artist under Stephen Shiu Jr's banner. They two nights ago attended a contract signing ceremony to announce that Babyjohn will make 6 films in 3 years. Stephen Shiu Jr. presented a Hong Kong Film Award replica to wish Babyjohn success with the Best New Performer award.
Babyjohn admitted that he was pleased with the salary. He also happily pointed out that Stephen Shiu Jr. tailored a character for me. He said, "It will be an action film, so I have to get fat and into shape. Six pack abdominal muscles and merman line are the dream of every man, but I am getting big to handle the physique that the film requires."
Stephen Shiu Jr.'s company has made many category III films, Babyjohn stated that he would reject sex films. Bed scenes would depend on whether the story called for it. He said, "Category III film definition is very wide. SPL (SAT POR LONG) was category III too, but I may not take a sex film. Mr. Shiu and I have good communication about that." He denied that his wife prohibited him from making sex film, he was the one who did not want to.
Stephen Shiu Jr. admired Babyjohn very much and has already arranged for him to perform in the Julian Cheung Chi Lam film YOU ARE THE ONE (CHIN YIK NGOK MOR OI SEUNG NGOR) and other new films. He said, "I want to turn him into the new (Stephen) Chow Sing Chi because he has a knack for comedy." He said that he understood Babyjohn's religious beliefs and thus would not arrange for him to perform in sex films.
