The Wong Jing directed, Andrew Lau Wai Keung produced new Lunar New Year film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU (DOH SING FUNG WON) starred Chow Yun Fat, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Chapman To Man Jat and others. In the past Wong Jing has made many popular gambling films and created many outstanding comedic characters. This time playing that role was To Man Jat. In the film he not only was lucky with the ladies but also had to take a beating. Ah Jat joked that he was not as handsome as Tse Ting Fung. Thus in order to stand out he copied the Nick Cheung Ka Fai played "Dragon" exactly.

To Man Jat joked with the god level Fat Gor and the handsome and cool Tse Ting Fung, inevitably he was responsible for the comedy in the film. However he praised Ting Fung's comedy potential as well. He said, "In the film Ting Fung was actually very smart but played dumb. I was the other way around. So I felt that Ting Fung actually was pretty good in a comedy." Playing the comedic role, Ah Jat said that he mainly copied the deeply popular "Dragon" exactly. He said, "My favorite gambling film was THE CONMAN (DOH HUP 1999) because I thought Cheung Ka Fai was the funniest. At the time his co-star was (Andy) Lau Tak Wa! Competing with Wa Jai was certain death. Isn't Ka Fai handsome too? Then aren't I handsome? However I am not as handsome as Ting Fung. Haha! So I have to copy 'Dragon' exactly."

A fellow photography nut like Fat Gor, To Man Jat joked that because of working together on FROM MACAU TO VEGAS he was tainted. He said, "I used to shoot with 135 film, after making this film I switched to 120 film. The film got bigger and bigger and more and more expensive, but after just finishing classes I was able to shoot the record cover for my wife. Then I had an excuse to buy two cameras again, my wife yelled at me like crazy."

With numerous gambling films, Wong Jing admitted that this time making the Lunar New Year film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU in an all new era was drastically different from before. He said, "In the 90s film GOD OF GAMBLERS, everyone would see those people were willing to bet their lives. They would lose their wives and children, even arms and legs. 20 years later, the Macau casinos would no longer have some mobsters. The entire family could go to see a show, stay at a very pretty hotel, shop. Since this industry is developing so well, how can we go back to the old concept! This time Chow Yun Fat plays a retired Las Vegas casino consultant. He really is very hi tech and doesn't have to risk his life. With hi tech he has a lot of confidence in defeating others. Conceivably only viewers would worry for him, making viewers feel that they have progressed with the times."
