The initial estimate was over 200 stars in the film, the most in national film history. THE FOUNDING OF A PARTY described the history and figures from the 1911 Xinhai Revolution to the 1921 Chinese Communist Party founding. The story centered around the first Chinese Communist Party members like Mao Zedong, Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu, Zhang Guotao, Zhou Enlai, and Cai Hesen and described in a history book manner their trailblazing spirit for the Chinese Revolution and New Democracy during the turbulent era.

The Hunan shoot mainly revolved around Mao Zedong's experience in his youth and school days. The upcoming Changsha shoot over 100 actors will participate, over 40 of whom will be top stars. The film still had 10 days before wrapping up. Currently all shoots have been basically
completed. As early as the first half of this year, Han Sanping, Huang Jianxin and one of the investors Li Xiang visited various locations for location scouting and research. Originally the Hunan scenes were planned to be completed in a Beijing set, but in order to bring the location where Mao Zedong lived back to life again they decided to move to Changsha.
