Earlier when Yuen Biao promoted THE LEGEND IS BORN IP MAN, he said that the Chi Tan starred IP MAN 2 had a lot of special effects. courtesy of mingpao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Kwai Lun-Mei for the new film OCEAN HEAVEN performed the same title song. This was already Siu Mei's third singing performance for a movie but she still trained for two months for it. Perhaps because the film's song writer was Japan music master Joe Hisaishi, Siu Mei had a lot of stress. Finally during the recording she was sick for two weeks. Siu Mei two years ago sang theme song for ALL ABOUT WOMEN (NUI YUN BUT WAI) and NO PUEDO VIVIR SIN TI last year, Siu Mei joked that others spent ten years on a sword, she sang one song a year.

The film asked Japanese music master Joe Hisaishi to write the song. After hearing Kwai Lun-Mei's demo, Joe Hisaishi felt that Siu Mei's singing was very tender and gentle. It matched with the song and the film itself very well. With the master's recommendation, Kwai Lun-Mei in order to do her best trained for a month with a singing instructor and even turned down many jobs to focus on her training. Finally Siu Mei fell ill for two weeks during the recording. She honestly said that this time she was even more nervous than her first recording.

Siu Mei said in 2008 she sang for the first time for the film ALL ABOUT WOMEN. At the time she had Zhou Xun by her side so she was able to handle it. This time her collaborator was the world famous master Mr. Joe Hisaishi. Because she liked VALLEY OF THE WIND, LAPUTA since she was little, she was particularly excited and nervous as she was afraid that she would sing poorly and ruin the master's effort. Although she recorded while she was ailing, Kwai Lun-Mei was very professional and thus received good review from the master. Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) who wrote and sang a theme song for the film as well had nothing about praise for Siu Mei. He said that this was a reunion with Siu Mei since SECRET (BUT NUNG SHUET DIK BEI MUK) and felt that Siu Mei's performance improved from three years ago.

courtesy of takungpao.com

Gillian Chung Yun Tung in the FANTASTIC WATER BABES (CHOOK SHUI FU YUNG) had many scenes in the water. Due to her fear of water it truly was a huge challenge, but professionalism came first for her. Even more difficult missions she would be able to handle them. In one scene she showed no fear despite standing on a 3 meter diving platform. To make the production smoother, that day Ah Gil arrived early to prepare. When she saw the high platform, the always professional Ah Gil could not help but be frighten. As the director considered whether the diving scene should be changed, Ah Gil was on the platform in the brink of an eye with safety precaution. Instead she asked the crew to relax. Finally, Ah Gil mustered up the courage and successfully completed the diving scene in one take. Ah Gil honestly said, "Actually at the time I was very scared, but I couldn't be selfish. The script change would just be for me but affect others, so I could only toughen up. Even on the five meter platform I still would jump."

Alex Fong Lik Sun then looked for Ah Gil's glasses in the pool. Siu Fong originally thought he could easily find the pair of glasses and look like a hero, but after getting into the water, Siu Fong swam around Ah Gil almost ten times and still could not find it. Finally Ah Gil had to help him to find it. Siu Fong shook his head and sighed, "I couldn't believe after so many years swimming, today a pair of glasses ruined my reputation. How shameful was I!" Ah Gil joked that Siu Fong lost everything in a moment.

I got more and more nervous as I read, as a lot in the reading gave me the creeps! Later I chatted with the friend again. Actually that book I read was not 'suitable for reading before bed', no wonder I could not properly rest."

Goo Jai had been very lucky in the film because he was between Li Bingbing and Ah Sa. Director Yee Tung Sing expressed that the arrangement of a love triangle between Goo Jai and two women was a new attempt for his production. Because he felt that if it was all action female viewers would not want to watch, he turned where did Goo Jai's heart location into this film's selling point. Goo Jai said that this film production was both very memorable and very "painful". "Li Bingbing was my boss who treated me very well and loved me, but she seemed to control my everything. At home I had to treat Ah Sa well. How could I face such relationships, they were too painful." Ng Yin Cho was envious because he had no romance in the film!

Conveying the emotions in the film was the most important. He said when he made INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH) he wanted to evoke everyone's understanding of values of money, power and truth. This time he examined the character's romantic views.

Liu Ye and Shu Qi have worked together previously on THE FOLIAGE and BLOOD BROTHERS (TIN TONG HAU), so they already had great chemistry. In THE FOLIAGE their romance pulled at the heart strings and made many viewers cry. In this film their romance was full of twists and turns. Lau Wai Keung revealed that this time they would have an even more satisfactory ending. MEI LAI YUN SUN is a love story between the Shu Qi played Hong Kong girl and the Liu Ye played Beijing guy. The life segment followed. Liu Ye demonstrated how to wash clothes with a washboard to Shu Qi. The host asked Liu Ye the other use of washboards. Liu Ye joked that aside from washing clothes it could be used to kneel. Shu Qi looked very confused. Liu Ye could only demonstrated how to kneel with a washboard. Tian Liang in the film played an introverted youth, he honestly said that he liked challenges. When he was diving he liked to challenge more difficult moves. Actually acting was like diving. As a professional diving team member he could not know just one move or one difficulty. While acting he could not play a character only and should challenge some different characters. Tian Liang expressed that he would work with his diving champion spirit to get the full score.

That night I dined with friends. I never paid attention to Hong Kong news. Only when I heard a friend mentioned the red hot news (artist nude photo scandal) I realized it was Ah Gil's. At the time I couldn't help but run out of the restaurant and cried. I never thought that Ah Gil would be in pain but still called me to wish me a Happy Birthday. Something so big happened but she still didn't mention a word. She even optimistically greeted me and wished me well. How could I not be heartbroken?" Ah Gil heard the director recalling what happened two years ago and also broke down.

Lam Ka Tung two nights ago as the producer along with the film GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI)'s directors Derek Kwok Chi Kin and Clement Cheng Si Kit and actor Wong Yau Nam attended a forum at the City University. Ka Tung hoped that the film will be nominated next year, but right now he was the most concerned about the film's word of mouth.

Ka Tung two nights ago reported some good news, pointing out that Chen Kuan Tai who played Chung Sing in the film has been invited to attend a Montreal film festival; another actor Leung Siu Lung was invited to go to New York. Ka Tung said that if he had time he would go as well. He also said that Teddy Robin Kwan would have foul language scenes. Dubbing would lose some of the spirit of the film so the Mainland requested a Cantonese version release. He personally would like a Cantonese version release as well. As for the category IIB rating despite the foul language, he explained that because the foul language was not offensive and was only adjective. He also stressed that GALLANTS was not too commercial. He joked that he had to conserve the film industry.

Yau Nam and Ka Tung became familiar with the IP MAN production. He even caught Ka Tung's eyes for GALLANTS, but during the shoot Yau Nam's father had business issues and made him lose focus. The team even once planned to cast again. Luckily he received Ka Tung's guidance and support. When he insisted on using him, he awoke from the conflict. Thus he was very appreciative. Now the matter has been resolved already. Yau Nam in order to bring life to the frail guy character, he who was already very frail lost another fifteen pounds to 115 lbs. Although it was tough he still had a lot of fun.

The film THE LEGEND IS BORN: IP MAN (IP MAN CHIN JUEN) two days ago held a press conference. To Yu hung who played Ip Man in the film, Huang Yi who played Cheung Wing Sing, Louis Fan Siu Wong, Yuen Biao, Rose Chan Ka Wun all attended. Ip Man's 86 year old son Ip Chun also recorded his well wishes. He said IP MAN and IP MAN 2 more or less left some regret, but THE LEGEND IS BORN: IP MAN added many details from his father's life. He felt that this was complete work that resembled his father the most in the Ip Man films.

Huang Yi this time in A LEGEND IS BORN: IP MAN broke the previous Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) created "Cheung Wing Sing" image. She not only played an "ahead of her time" wife but also Mrs. Ip Man who could fight. Huang Yi expressed that in the society at that time, she fell in love with Ip Man. The girl pursuing the guy was easy, but at the time in the traditional society it was very "ahead of her time". She expressed that when she and Ip Man met it was love at first sight and first fight. The overall story had to be kept under wrap for now. Huang Yi said that Cheung Wing Sing was a descendant of a famous Foshan family. They were quite far apart. Ip Man was not much of a talker. When they were together they experienced a lot of hardship. Although Cheung Wing Sing knew Wing Chun, she absolutely was not a tomboy. To the man who she loved she was still very gentle.

Huang Yi was a World Expo sign language image ambassador, but at the request of the media, in a short dress and high heels Huang Yi still performed self created Wing Chun that was "ahead of its time". Huang Yi also used sign language to interpret the film's Chinese title.

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Kwai Lun-Mei in the film OCEAN HEAVEN appeared in a clown costume. She said that after turning into a clown she had a hard time identifying herself as well, as she joked that she looked more like Ronald McDonald than herself. In the past Kwai Lun-Mei has always walked the innocent student route. This time she was willing to "make the sacrifice" completely due to how deeply touching the script was. Kwai Lun-Mei pointed out that the director Xue Xiaolu volunteered at an autistic school for over ten years. The script was his real personal experience and was the most touching in her career. At the time she already stated to her company that she had to perform it, neither the role nor the costume would be important. She would only like everyone to pay attention to these children.

In the film the Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) played aquarium worker Wang Xincheng had an autistic son Wen Zhang. Wen Zhang often played at the aquarium and ran into Kwai Lun-Mei, a clown in the circus that was performing at the aquarium. They developed an intricate and touching relationship as Kwai Lun-Mei became the autistic son's only friend. Kwai Lun-Mei not only had to dress like a clown but also had to learn to juggle. When she first met the director she had to learn to juggle already. In the weeks that followed she kept practicing at home and could juggle three balls over ten times. Yet during the shoot she constantly had bad takes and it was not easy at all; in the end Kwai Lun-Mei was able to do it.

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Chapman To Man Jat produced, Heiward Mak Hei Yan directed, Gillian Chung Yun Tung, William Chan Wai Ting, Michelle Wai (Si Nga) starred new film Ex (CHIN DOH) will soon open. Ah Jat this time was not only the producer but also a guest star. In the film he played a very talkative doctor. Although he only had one scene, Ah Jat had to make quite a sacrifice because Wise Guy Jacky Heung Jor would "bust a bottle" over him. The film company made special bottles for the scene, but for better results, Ah Jat already told Heung Jor to smash as hard as he could and not to hold back.

During the shoot, Heung Jor "busted the bottle" hard over Ah Jat and it shattered all over. Some of the shrapnel even flew to the next table. Ah Jat's right eye suffered as fake blood went in and made him keep tearing up. However, Ah Jat insisted on finishing the scene before resting like a professional. Ah Jat said that this was not only a romance but also had action elements. While Ah Gil and the others were responsible for the romance, he was responsible for the action. However, he only suffered a "bottle bust" and no car chase or building jump.

Don Li Yat Long yesterday was the host. He said that he would like to play a role in the film. When he first met with the young models he felt very embarrassed and felt like an uncle. He expressed that lately he has been busy with working in the Mainland, but because of that he had

courtesy of takungpao.com

Raymond Wong Pak Ming yesterday attended a soccer carnival. Wong Pak Ming revealed that he just returned from a trip to Hebei, Kaifeng and other cities with his son Edmond Wong Chi Wun to get screenplay inspiration. Since its release, IP MAN 2 had both good word of mouth and box office. Is he planning to make IP MAN 3? Wong Pak Ming pointed out that he never said anything about making a third film. Because now too many movies will be able Ip Man and Bruce Lee, he is now planning a large scale new action film that will no longer be a biography. He will also not ask Donnie Yen Chi Tan as the leading man.

Is he no longer asking Yen Chi Tan to be the lead because his salary has already risen to over 100 million? Wong Pak Ming expressed that earlier he worked with Chi Tan many times. Before IP MAN they also worked together on SEVEN SWORDS (CHUT GIM). He will not stop working with him just because his salary will be too expensive. Mainly now Chi Tan has already become very busy and he will have no time to perform.

As for IP MAN 2's box office, Wong Pak Ming pointed out that the film has already exceeded 200 million at the Mainland box office. Hong Kong's was also close to 40 million, which was better than the first. Reportedly because of IP MAN, people who wanted to study Wing Chun drastically increased. Even Master Ip Chun pointed out that teaching space was no longer sufficient so he could not accept more disciples in half a year. Wong Pak Ming pointed out that this was good as well. However, he expressed that lately he has not been in Hong Kong. The last time he saw Master Ip Chun was at the IP MAN 2 premiere. He only knew that he was satisfied with IP MAN 2.

At first Si Nga was a little worried too and I felt whether it was too daring, but the result was very artistic and very pretty. We were at ease." He said that this film was very romantic and was not selling sex. When asked whether he had any biological reaction during the shoot, he said that he tried to control himself. "Actually after the shoot I was upset because the story was not pleasant. I didn't have any biological reaction." William said that during the shoot they ended as soon as they made contact. Did he fall for her? He honestly said that he did, he liked both. Who would he choose in real life? He said, "That's very hard to answer, I have to be with them for awhile to know." William said that he tried to be low key with his love life. Has he cried over his personal life? He said if he did he would hide to do it. Will he choose beauty inside with his girlfriend? He said, "Beauty inside is very important. I have always preferred inner beauty. I will look for someone who provides me with confidence. The best is someone with both inner and outer beauty." He honestly said that now he is more selfish with his love life because he did not want to get hurt.

Si Nga expressed that she had back baring scenes, which were awkward during the shoot. She said, "Before the shoot William and I talked about where the touching started and stopped. That scene was very passionate, but William was quite a gentleman. He would tell me what he would do but the result was somewhat unnatural. The director then taught us how to relax." She said that at the time she did not think about where was touched, she only knew that it was very passionate. In addition the scene was very chaotic. They both used a lot of force and her gum was bleeding from a hard mouth bump. She said that night they worked for four to five hours, she thought the playback of the intimate scene felt strange and joked that she did not dare to watch. Ah Gil said that she gave her first on screen kiss in the film. She said that Si Nga's scene was added on the spot. She helped her with the safety precautions, luckily William was her co-star and was able to provide her with a sense of security. If she was in the scene instead she might not be able to accept it. "For now no movie has exceeded my bottom line, actually it would depend on the script, as long as it's not too sexual it's fine."

Earlier Jia Zhangke expressed that before the production started he was invited to play a role but the role later turned into a woman so he had to give up. Earlier many rumors claimed that Chow Yun Fat on the set was always "acting like a big shot". Jiang Wen denied everything. "He is never late and never leaves earlier. sometimes he would even work overtime. In addition Fat Gor would help us with the take board and records of the scenes. He also got along very well with the young actors. I later asked Chow Yun Fat, why everyone thought he was so hard to deal with. I never expected what Fat Gor said to me, 'You aren't as hard to deal with as I imagined.'" Jiang Wen even revealed that Chow Yun Fat for this character even got a mouthful of gold teeth, "which I respected him a lot for."

Jiang Wen honestly said that he was not in charge of LET THE BULLETS FLY alone. "We often had many people around the monitor. Anyone can see what we were making. A reporter asked whether he will work with a Taiwan director. Jiang Wen answered, "If Hou Hsiao-Hsien and Ang Lee approach me, I would go. Since they haven't, what am I going into the crowd for?"

Every time there is a charity show, without him not as many people respond and help. He truly is unprecedented!" When asked which was his favorite show business era, Chi Wai said, "Actually I miss the most that period without managers. At that time new comers followed veterans. Anyone with a problem would call each other, everyone's relationship is very good and close. Now everything goes through managers, that type of relationship doesn't exist anymore." Chi Wai talked about working with Bruce Lee, praising him for taking care of the younger folks but was also quite a "partier".
