[2010.01.22] ZHANG YIMOU'S "SIMPLE" COMPETES FOR THE GOLDEN BEAR

The Berlin Film Festival official site announced its films in competition. Zhang Yimou's A SIMPLE NOODLE STORY appeared in the latest announcement, the second qualified Chinese film since Wang Quanan's APART TOGETHER. These two films along with 18 other films will compete for the Berlin Film Festival's highest prize, the Golden Bear.

This is Zhang Yimou's first return to Europe's three major film festival competition since 2003's HERO and also Zhang Yimou's first film on the world stage after 3 years of silence.
