Aside from their life and death battle on the battlefields of Brazil, Huang Yi also changed her usual genre and played a mamasan who is stuck between Chau Sun and Joe Odagiri. While her MY FAIR PRINCESS Little Swallow image is deep, in PLASTIC CITY she plays a rather dominating and exotic mamasan.
Director Yu Lik Wai says Huang Yi's image is somewhat wild. Once he thought about her in the role that Brazilian actress Tania now plays, but when she learned that she had to perform a passionate nude scene with Joe Odagiri and a topless pole dance, she turned it down right away. Huang Yi in the film negotiated with the mob on behalf of Chau Sun and got beaten up for her trouble. She performed the scene personally, but the director later cut this scene.
